The Wollaton Pub & Kitchen is a combination of a "home-from-home" local pub and a "cut-above-the-rest" dining experience concentrated around quality ingredients cooked with love and care. The ethic is an extension of the gastropub tradition - friendly, and only as formal as you want to make it. The Wollaton is one of four establishments owned by The Moleface Pub Co. The others being: The Larwood & Voce Pub & Kitchen, The Lord Nelson Pub & Kitchen and The Royal Oak Pub & Kitchen.
Built in the style of an orangery, the lofty proportions give a feeling of space and tranquility, absorbing the bustle and hubbub of animated diners enjoying conversation and traditional food cooked just the way it should be, in fact, chefs at The Wollaton have gone to great lengths to ensure authenticity of flavour, researching dishes, perfecting and sharing ideas on a daily basis.
The boardroom is a private dining area seating up to 16 people and perfect for a birthday celebration, family or corporate get-together.
The Wollaton has an excellent reputation for its hearty Sunday Lunches (for larger parties, carving carried out at your table by one of our chefs) now complemented by an extensive Sunday Supper menu. The rest of the week features Daily Specials, a weekly Lunch and Dinner menu, Breakfast and Saturday Brunch menus as well as a variety of regular offers and events such as Baby Cakes, Ladies Night and Steak Night.
With a consistent approach to quality and customer service our restaurant has proved a firm favourite for special occasions such as St Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day.
Executive chefs are tuned-in to seasonal availability of quality victuals, ensuring diners of flavoursome seafood, poultry, game, meat and vegetables in peak condition. In fact The Wollaton and The Moleface Pub Co as a whole is so committed to local produce. Coming soon is a herb and vegetable garden on the premises - watch this space!
Quality extends to outside catering for weddings, birthdays, wakes, christenings etc. Exclusive hire of the premises is available for functions, as is our private dining area and boardroom.
Wine lovers will revel in the extensive and carefully chosen list, a large proportion of which are available by the glass.
The Wollaton occasionally hosts live music on a Friday or Saturday night and charity quizzes on a Sunday evening.
Children of all ages are very welcome in the restaurant however we do ask that they are supervised at all times and remain at your table whenever possible. Baby changing facilities are provided as is an outdoor mini play area, weather permitting.
Bare wood floors, rugs, an open fire, warm colours and comfortable seating make for a convivial atmosphere whether eating or spending a boozy evening with friends. A range of both local and national hand-pulled ales sits alongside a selection of draught, lagers, bitters and cider, bottled beers, cocktails and a wide range of spirits and liqueurs. The bar areas are so designed to cater for crowds watching Sky Sports or new parents enjoying a get-together for our regular Baby Cakes morning. There is plentiful outside seating for those lazy summer evenings.
David Savage, Head Chef, leads a brigade of 14 highly trained chefs and has worked for The Moleface Pub Co for 4 years, having a vast range of experience in some of Nottingham's best known restaurants. Steve's enthusiasm for local produce means you will often see him 'bartering' with local allotment owners exchanging their home-grown veg for beer tokens!
The Wollaton Pub & Kitchen is just across the road from one of Nottingham's favourite visitor attractions, Wollaton Hall. Its Deer Park and extensive gardens draw in locals and tourists alike for walking, beautiful scenery, its lake and golf course. Recently featured in the latest Batman movie, the Elizabethan Mansion House also houses Nottingham's Natural History Museum.
Wherever possible we use local, seasonal produce thus cutting our impact on the environment. We recycle all glass and paper goods in specially designated bins. Appropriate food waste is composted in circumstances where it is safe to do so. We aim to cut energy and water consumption wherever possible.
